Minutes of the CC Council April Meeting

The Crowley Clan Council met on the evening of 27th April at Jerry Crowley’s pub in Crossmahon. Jerry, Liam, Larry, Flor, and Ann from Bandon and Marian from USA were present. Flor gave the treasurer’s report and stated that because of recent donations the castle restoration debt has been reduced from €14,000 to €12,000. Discussion followed about ways to raise the remainder of the money needed.

The council members were all in agreement that the changes Jim Ritzert made to the website were quite positive. Everyone is happy with its new face and agreed that we do not need to spend money changing the site. The council commended Jim for his excellent work as webmaster.

There was a discussion about using the services of Pay Pal to make donations to the treasury easier. A member of the Crowley Clan has looked into this and has made a recommendation that we try it. After some discussion, it was decided to try the service for a year and see if donations increase. Marian agreed to pursue it with the help of Flor.

After learning that the hotel in Macroom which we intended to use for the 2010 gathering is experiencing management problems, the council discussed various alternatives and decided to look at another town, namely Kinsale. Marian said she would go to Kinsale and talk to the two primary hotels with banquet facilities there. The meeting was adjourned.
