Meet Our New Taoiseach Jerry Crowley of Crossmahon

On Sunday, September 12, 2010, at O'Crowley's Castle in Ahakeera, Jerry Crowley of Bandon became the new Taoiseach of the Clan Crowley. The transfer of the chain of office took place at the end of Mass just before the final blessing.

Jerry Crowley - New Clan TaoiseachJerry Crowley was born and educated in Bandon and is the son of the late Daniel and Nora Crowley. He has been involved with the Crowley Clan organization for over 20 years and has been the Tánaiste for the past three years. He has always been very involved in the planning of the Crowley Gatherings, especially so this year. Jerry is a familiar face to Crowleys who have traveled to West Cork for the Crowley Clan Gatherings.

For the past thirteen and one half years, Jerry has owned and operated the Pub in Crossmahon which is a country pub just outside of Bandon. If you have been to a Crowley Gathering, you have probably been in his friendly pub for an evening of music and fellowship.

Jerry has one daughter, Linda, who is studying law at the University of Cork in Cork City and who also helps out at the pub. He lives at Crossmahon and in the near future is planning to start work on a new house next door to the pub.

Please join us in wishing Jerry the best of luck during his three year term as our new Taoiseach. Next time you are in Bandon, be sure to stop by the Pub at Crossmahon to say hello, but be sure to get directions first!
