Franklin, IN USA "Have been searching extensively for any information on my ancestors. I am the grandson of a Kathleen Crowley (married my grandfather, John Dore), born in Bristol, England 1900. Grandma was the daughter of a John Crowley originally from Bantry Bay (?), husband of a Teresa Stiles. They emigrated to Canada in about 1914, settled in Montreal. Any info would be most welcomed! Good luck to and God Bless all Crowleys (and their decendants, of course!), wherever they may be. thank you for allowing my visit to your informative site. Would love to attend the Clan gathering in 2004 (will start 'saving my pennies',now!)"

From: Jilly Morrison <Edencurra@aol.com,>
Connecticut USA "It's great to see so many interested Crowley's. I am planning to be at the reunion in 2004. I was in the area when the last reunion was held but did not know about it or I would have been at the event. For the past 5 years I have been researching my Murphy family, originally from Dunmanway. With the book almost ready for print I am eager to start on my maternal side, the Crowley's. Edward Crowley settled in Waterbury, Connecticut in the mid 1800's. I do know that he is from the vacinity of Dunmanway as his son in law did visit his deceased wife's family durning his holiday in Ireland in the 1920's. Please let me know when the Crowley chat room opens so we can share our Crowley Genealogy. See you in September 2004!"

Mayby one of you Crowleys know who he is and where he is staying and could give me his e-mail adress. I have lived in Ireland (Coomhola) a long time ago and met him as a goodfriend.

From: James A. Crowley Kemble <jersey_jim_the_jerseyan@yahoo.com,>
Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania USA "Wonderful site.
Wish there was some genalogy here as I am looking for Jerimiah Crowley [probably born between 1799 to 1819] and his wife, Mary Regan. I beleive they remained in Irish while their son, John Crowley [Sep 1839, ___________, County Cork -- 6 Dec 1905 in Horseheads, Chemung County, New York] came to the United States in 1863 and may have been married in Ireland prior to leaving the country. John's wife is Hannah Kane (or Hannora Kain depending on the source). John settled in Chemung County, New York and lived in Southport, Elmira, and finally Horseheads (where he died). I do not know of any other brothers or sisters of John. John and Hannah had several children -- Jeremiah 1863 Ireland or New York, USA, Michael 1866 NY, Daniel 1867 NY, John 1868 NY, Stephen 1870 NY, Cornelius C. 1873 NY (and my great grandfather), Mary Ellen 1874 NY, Dennis Avidius 1877, and Anna M. 1878. Hope someone reading this may recognize the particular family and be able to assist me in my research.
Look forward to the Clan gathering in 2004, my God shield and protect us all. May his smile warm our spirits and souls."

I have some information regarding my grandfather Daniel Joseph Crowley dob: April 29, 1866 in County Cork dod: June 29, 1950 in Portland, OR. He was babtized on May 6, 1866 at St Patricks Church in County Cork. He imigrated to the USA in the 1890's, I think. He farmed around Page, ND, USA. As I understand it he was one of 17(?) brothers and sisters. I'm very interested in finding any of these members of the Crowley family.
Thanks again for the website, my wife and I will be considering coming to the family outing in 2004 or 2005.

From: Allister Patrick Crowley
Portsmouth, Devon England "My great grandfathers name was John Crowley, he and the rest of my familly lived in Lota, a large mansion overlooking the river as you drive into Cork from Carrigaline. I know he was a bit of an entrepeneur, hence the house, and I am also aware that he was a political figure of some form or another. My father believed him to be mayor of the city due to his regal retire in old familly photos. Lota was the first city in Cork to recieve electricity, and the ensuing flashing lights, led the British to accuse him of spying and sending signals to german u boats. The situation was resolved over a glass of Paddy, with a brigadier. I also know that he owned Moores ditillery and the Winthrop Arcade."

From: Jack Crowley <crowleyj@indigo.ie,>
Cork, Ireland "My family are in Cork City since 1879. Our family are in Rathorgan, Clonmult, near Midleton, Co. Cork since ?. The earliest known headstone for the family is John Crowley died 1789 buried at Templeboden.
My theory is that the four Crowley families on the Peter Robinson emigration to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada in 1825 are connected to us. This is based on the fact that those families came from our part of Co. Cork. Most Crowleys are from West Cork. We are are from East Cork. There are other Crowleys in East Cork and West Waterford, some I know are distant connections of ours."
